Pete Winwood | Indie Folk Rock Singer-Songwriter & Live Music Performer

Pete Winwood — Original Music

Pete Winwood is a Midlands-based indie folk-rock singer-songwriter with over 20 years’ experience writing and performing original music. Rooted in indie, folk, pop, and rock, his songs combine melodic drive with reflective storytelling, shaped by a deep connection to live performance and place.

Pete’s work has been featured across BBC Radio, including appearances on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio Stoke, BBC Radio Devon, and BBC Radio WM. His original song Wild Horses of London received national airplay, helping establish him as a respected BBC Radio–featured artist within the UK indie folk scene.

A graduate in Popular Music, Pete approaches songwriting with authenticity, lyrical depth, and rhythmic energy. His live performances span grassroots venues, curated songwriter nights, and music festivals, where songs are shared in listening-friendly spaces rather than high-pressure environments.

Original Releases

Pete’s latest single, Siren’s Song, is an indie folk-rock release inspired by folklore, longing, and the pull of the natural world. The song explores themes of temptation, companionship, and freedom, translating ancient imagery into a modern, melodic setting.

Songwriting, recording, production, mixing, and mastering were completed independently by Pete at Bullet King Records in Rugeley, reflecting his commitment to fully independent music creation.

Available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.

Live & Recorded Work

Pete’s original catalogue blends emotive songwriting with rhythmic acoustic and band-led arrangements. Songs such as Flames in June, Lighting Fires, and White Washed Waves highlight a balance between polish and rawness — music designed to be felt as much as heard.

In recent years, Pete has increasingly focused on independent production, refining a sound that remains grounded and human while meeting professional broadcast standards.
